Ask HN: Is using GitHub for a closed-source product considered "not cool"?

2 points by kenanbek 5 hours ago

I use a GitHub repository for release distribution for a cross-platform desktop application. The source code itself is not open source. However, I keep testing scripts and binaries for all supported platforms. Additionally, the repo also serves as a GitHub page.

I explicitly have a [disclaimer][1] about it not being an open-source project.

Is this a bad appeal from a community perspective?
